BOT 2023 Elections: It’s Important to Participate!
The Esplanade Board of Trustees’ Election takes place this fall coinciding with the Annual Meeting on November 14. There are five candidates for four slots: Incumbants Jane Blalock, Jane Gould and John Yee, plus Janis Gogan and Michael Altman. The Board of Trustees, as the Esplanade’s governing body, has critical fiduciary, oversight, and strategic responsibilities and is accountable to the owners. Involvement by the owners is essential to the Board’s success.
The ECG encourages owners to participate fully in this important election process, by voting for the Trustees. It is owners’ responsibility to make informed choices when deciding for whom to vote by being informed about the candidates’ experience and skills and participating—for example, asking relevant questions-- at Candidates’ night. (Ballots and proxies were distributed to owners by the Board in mid-October.) Owners can vote for their preferred candidates on their ballots directly or owners can vote by Proxy. If using the Proxy, give specific voting instructions to the person who exercises your Proxy so that your vote reflects your own choices. Remember that you can vote for 1, 2, 1 or 4 candidates!
