Passing is a subtle and thought provoking movie set in the Harlem Renaissance. Brilliantly directed by Rebecca Hall we witness the interplay of two extraordinary actresses as they challenge the audience to consider their physical appearance as ways as surviving as black women in America . The movie is exquisitely paced and the racial tensions we experienced then and now provide wonderful insights to the racial struggle in our country.
Our film group grappled with the nuances and the realities portrayed by this wonderful cast and each of us felt it was worth seeing.
